ABOUT KING'S DEER
King's Deer Lodge is a beautiful log home situated on five wooded acres, 9 miles from the entrance to Denali National Park. The vacation rental gives guests the freedom to experience Denali at their own leisure. Enjoy views of the Alaska Range from every window and embark on winter adventures of
every kind.
Ahtna lands are accessible out the front door, and with an easily purchased and affordable permit, there are miles of trails to explore - to include woods and hills, lakes and mountains. Cantwell is a short 20 minutes from the lodge and home to excellent mountain riding.
The Aurora Borealis can be viewed from the property, but for best viewing, we recommend taking a short drive to a Parks Highway pullout. Stampede Road in Healy provides a quieter, more secluded location to hunt for the Northern Lights. For National Park enthusiasts, visit the Murie Science and Learning Center in Denali National Park.
The main floor of the lodge is lighted by large picture windows and rustic stained glass lamps. The kitchen is equipped with double ovens and a large refrigerator. There are two dining tables and stoneware dishes and utensils for 12. A Natuzzi leather couch provides rest and relaxation from which to enjoy a crackling fire in the wood stove.
Upstairs is the family room and three bedrooms. The McKinley Suite consists of the spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, queen bed, private bathroom. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a Queen bed. Bedroom 2 has a double bed. There is a shared bathroom down the hall with a shower and large vanity.
Guests at King's Deer Lodge are responsible for meals and general housekeeping during their stay. We recommend purchasing groceries before you come to Denali. Anchorage, Wasilla, or Three Bears in Healy have reasonable prices. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is 10am.
The garage is reserved for storage and the use of the owners. Our family may access the garage during your stay. There is a large semi-unfinished basement with a bathroom, 3 queen beds and one bunk bed.

WINTER ACTIVITIES
King's Deer Lodge is the perfect place to step into the wilderness and will add a special dynamic to the winter months. Adventures of every kind await the days under the prized, fleeting sunlight, and the vivid shine of crystals in the snow beckon with a glistening invitation.
Denali National Park is minutes away, and guests are given a hearty welcome as they learn more about the pristine Denali wilderness. Nearly 2,500 people visit Denali daily in the summer, while as few as 100 are present daily in the winter. Winter is the time to visit if looking for an individualized, leisurely rendezvous.
If skiing is one's passion, there are excellent trails that are accessible from the property. There is no need to drive anywhere, just fasten your skis and push off from the front steps. The trails are used by the famed Iditarod musher Jeff King and pass down the intertie and through the woods. Experienced skiers may traverse farther and up to the hills. Mountain vistas punctuate the snow-blanketed, remote trails and are a breathtaking addition to one's skiing adventure.
For the avid snowmobiler, follow the local, accessible trails farther through the trees and on to the avid wilderness. Experienced riders may take a short drive to Cantwell and enjoy some of the best terrain there is. Caribou are a lucky sight and the panoramic views are incredible. There is room for trailers and sled in the driveway, an arctic entryway to stomp off the snow, and a cozy fire to warm up by.
